French Authorities on Alert Over Weapons Found in Alain Delon's House

French authorities have confiscated 72 firearms and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition from the residence of renowned actor Alain Delon.

During a search at Delon’s home in Douchy-Montcorbon, located approximately 135km (84 miles) south of Paris, officials also discovered a shooting range. Prosecutors revealed that Delon lacked the necessary permit to possess firearms.

The 88-year-old actor, celebrated for his roles in classic French cinema such as “The Samurai” and “Borsalino,” has faced health issues, including a stroke in 2019 and undisclosed serious ailments.

The search was prompted by observations made by a court-appointed official visiting Delon’s residence, who subsequently notified a judge after spotting a weapon.

In addition to health concerns, Delon’s personal life has been under scrutiny. Recent public disputes among his children have made headlines, involving accusations, legal actions, and public confrontations.

His children have raised concerns about his well-being, including disagreements over his medical care. Last year, they filed a complaint against his former live-in assistant, alleging harassment.

Delon’s public appearances have been limited, with his last notable one being the reception of an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. He also attended the funeral of his friend and fellow actor Jean-Paul Belmondo in Paris later that year.
