In a message on the eve of the second anniversary of the war between Russia and Ukraine, US President Joe Biden announced new sanctions against Moscow over Navalny’s death, according to a statement on the official White House website.
Biden stated that more than 500 new sanctions will be imposed against Russia due to the death of Navalny and the second anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian War.
Emphasizing that the sanctions will cover Russia’s financial and defense sector as well as those “linked to Navalny’s imprisonment,” Biden said, “(Sanctions) will make Putin pay an even heavier price for his aggression abroad and repression at home.”
