Trump’s ticket angered truckers: “We’re not going to New York”

The phrase “boycott New York City” trended on X, with more than 13,000 posts using the term

On February 16, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump, his two sons, Trump Organization employees and Trump-affiliated companies to pay tens of millions of dollars. Trump (his companies and trust) was ordered to pay more than $350 million with interest, while his sons were ordered to pay about $4 million each. Many truck drivers across the country appear to be appealing this decision.

A man known online as Chicago Ray posted a video on X after the verdict. “I’ve been talking to drivers on the radio for the last hour and I’ve talked to about 10 drivers,” Ray said, adding that truckers “will start refusing loads starting Monday.”

I don’t know how far this will go nationwide, or how many truckers will start refusing freight to New York, but I can tell you this: if you dare to try it, you will suffer the consequences.

Wearing a hat with a Trump logo, Ray continued, “We’re tired of you fucking lefties picking on Trump.

“Our bosses don’t care if we refuse the loads. We just go somewhere else, you know? Do you know how hard it is to get into New York City in one of these [vehicles]?

“Truckers are with Trump,” Ray said, reading one of Trump’s quotes and calling the decision “election interference.”

The video seems to have gotten a lot of attention. By Sunday morning, the phrase “boycott New York City” was trending on X, with more than 13,000 posts mentioning the term.

It is unclear whether the boycott will actually be enforced. But Chicago Ray isn’t the only one voicing opposition to the civil fraud ruling.

Elena Cardone, wife of wealthy real estate investor Grant Cardone, has created a GoFundMe campaign page called “Stand with Trump; Fund the Unjust $355 Million Verdict.” Grant Cardone also announced on X that “100% of the funds donated will go to the Trump Org to defend against this absurd decision.”

Elena wrote the following on her campaign page:

I stand unwaveringly with President Donald Trump in the face of what in my eyes is unprecedented and unfair treatment by certain elements of the judiciary in New York.

Since Elena Cardone launched the fundraiser, over $240,000 has been raised.

The strong reaction to the verdict in the civil fraud case could be an indication of America’s response to the outcome of the ongoing cases against Trump in federal and state courts.
