Russian President Vladimir Putin said he prefers US President Joe Biden to Donald Trump but is ready to work with any US President.

Putin was asked by interviewer Pavel Zarubin which of Democrat Biden and Republican Trump is ‘better for us’.

Putin said, “Biden. He is a more experienced, predictable person, a politician of the old school. But we will work with any US president in whom the American people have confidence.”

Americans will go to the polls in November 2024 to elect the next US president.

“We thought our interlocutors were decent people”

Stating that they are concerned about the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO, Putin said, “Because this threatens our security. We are constantly deceived about NATO not expanding to the east. They have made five expansions, a complete deception.”

Emphasizing that Russia first made peaceful initiatives on Ukraine but was deceived about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Putin said, “The only thing we regret is that we did not start our active actions earlier, thinking that our interlocutors were decent people.”

Stating that Russia started the ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine due to the developments in Donbas, Putin said, “The complete refusal of today’s Ukrainian authorities to implement the Minsk agreements was actually a triggering factor.”

Referring to the evaluations that US journalist Carlson was too soft in the interview published last week, Putin said, “I think Carlson is a dangerous person. I thought he would be aggressive and ask tough questions. I wanted this because I would have the opportunity to give tough answers.”

“He tried to interrupt me several times, but he was surprisingly patient for a Western journalist,” Putin said, noting that Carlson used a different tactic instead.
