NVIDIA has unveiled a new AI assistant called “Chat with RTX”, designed to work on PC using an RTX graphics card. The company released an early developer preview of the AI tool and said that RTX 30 and 40 series are available for free testing.
What is the Chat with RTX AI tool?
The demo app released by NVIDIA allows users to create a personalized chatbot using documents, videos, and other data stored locally on their PC. You can use this tool using an RTX 30 or 40 series graphics card with at least 8 GB of memory.
According to the company, Chat with RTX leverages ray-tracing capabilities to enable files to be quickly queried and analyzed on-device. For example, one user said he uploaded a test video and the AI tool was able to easily find references in the video.
On a flight from Seattle to Dubai, the head of Microsoft Word shared his experience with Apple Vision Pro. Here are the details…
The Chat with RTX tool can be used especially for document scanning. You can pull the desired part from tens of pages of files and have it summarized by the tool. This program also works with your own hardware without the need for an internet connection or cloud services.
Leveraging the power of RTX graphics cards, the tool can quickly perform tasks such as document summarization, question answering and video transcription.
It’s important to note that the tool is currently in preview and is only available for RTX 30 and 40 series graphics cards. It is unclear when it will expand to other models and when the stable version will be released.
