Taylor Swift’s Record-Breaking Eras Tour Movie to Stream Exclusively on Disney+

Disney announced on Wednesday that Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras tour movie will exclusively stream on Disney+ starting March 15.

Entitled “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” the concert film will feature the entire show along with four additional acoustic songs and the popular single “cardigan.”

Grossing over $260 million globally, “The Eras Tour” film has become the highest-selling concert film in box office history. In its opening weekend in the United States and Canada, it earned approximately $96 million.

Directed by Sam Wrench, the nearly three-hour-long movie was filmed over three nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles during the past summer.

Similar to other endeavors by Taylor Swift, the concert film turned into a cultural phenomenon in theaters. Theaters even offered Taylor Swift-branded popcorn buckets, and fans were encouraged to sing, dance, and dress up as if attending a live show.

Swift initially announced the availability of the concert film on demand on December 13, her birthday, for a rental fee of $19.89, aligning with the year of her birth and one of her studio albums. Now, it will be exclusively accessible to Disney+ subscribers.

The announcement from Disney came during its earnings release, with CEO Bob Iger noting the company’s positive trajectory, despite ongoing losses in its streaming service business. However, Disney anticipates that its streaming business will turn profitable by the end of the year.
