Teachers across the country have gone on strike in protest against working conditions.

Teachers gathered at the Edmond Rostand Square in Paris and marched to the Ministry of Education.

“I am tired of being wished ‘good luck’ when I say I am a teacher” and “Oudea-Castera (Education Minister) you are uneducated”.

Demanding the resignation of Amelie Oudea-Castera, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and the Olympic Games, the demonstrators also reacted to the practice of classifying students in secondary school according to their level.

The scheme, which has not yet come into force, envisages that 1st and 2nd grade students will be divided into different classes according to their level in French and mathematics.
