US companies are moving their artificial intelligence centers to Europe. Most recently, Google opened an artificial intelligence research center in Paris, the capital of France.

US technology giant Google has opened an artificial intelligence research center in the French capital Paris.

Google’s Paris center will house at least 300 researchers and engineers, the US company said in a statement. The company’s goal is to train at least 100,000 skilled workers to work on artificial intelligence by the end of 2025.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai praised Paris during the opening event, calling it a global innovation hub. At the Google event, officials talked about creating a European Silicon Valley in the Paris region, a long-held dream.

There has been a growing trend of major US tech firms opening artificial intelligence centers in European hubs, working on cutting-edge products. Google, Meta, Apple and Microsoft already have AI centers in Zurich, Switzerland. These engineering and R&D facilities employ thousands of people. Amazon, another major player in AI research, has teams in Germany and the UK.
