According to the China Global Television Network (CGTN), the satellite named “Xingshidai-18” (Rongpiao) was launched by the Tayyüen Satellite Launch Center with the Smart Dragon-3 (SD-3) rocket at 11:06 a.m. local time off the coast of Yangciang city in Guangdong province in southern China.
The rocket, carrying Egypt’s NExSat-1 satellite, was sent into orbit.
The “Xingshidai-18” satellite, manufactured by Guoxing Aerospace Technology Company, became the first artificial intelligence-powered commercial satellite to orbit the Earth.
