Doctors at Walter Reed Military Hospital made a statement yesterday regarding the state of health of Defense Secretary Austin.
Doctors who saw Austin at his follow-up appointment reported that the Minister’s prostate cancer recovery is progressing perfectly.
Doctors said that no further treatment would be needed beyond the planned physiotherapy and regular follow-up appointments after the prostatectomy.

His hospitalization sparked controversy
Austin’s secret hospitalization on December 22, 2023 and his failure to inform the White House and Congress about his health caused a crisis.
Austin, who underwent surgery for prostate cancer at Walter Reed Military Hospital, was sent home the next day but was hospitalized again on January 1 due to complications.
Austin’s hospitalization came to the agenda for the first time with the statement made by the US Department of Defense on January 5, and it was announced that his condition was good.
It was later revealed that senior officials, including President Joe Biden, as well as Defense Department (Pentagon) officials and members of Congress, learned days later that Austin had been hospitalized.
The hospitalization of 70-year-old Austin and keeping the developments regarding his health condition secret from the authorities and the public led to criticism, and Congress and the Pentagon launched an investigation into the issue.
Austin was discharged from the hospital on January 15 and has been working from home since then. It is not known when Austin will return to his office at the Pentagon.
