Francesca Albanese, the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on Palestine, reminded in a post on social media platform X that the day after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) reached a “reasonable judgement” that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, some countries decided to stop financial support to UNRWA.
Stating that these countries collectively punished millions of Palestinians at the most critical time, Albanese noted that these countries violated their obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Finland, Australia, the UK and the US announced that they had decided to stop their financial support for UNRWA.
