Leaked real-world Galaxy S24 Ultra pictures remind you of the iPhone 15 Pro Max

Following months of rumors, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S24 series will be unveiled on January 17. We know almost everything about the future phones thanks to a flood of speculations and leaked photographs, but nothing is truly official until it is, and in the meantime, we have leaks to rely back on, such as new supposed shots of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The photographs, posted on X by @WorkaholicDavid, show the front and rear of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. At first sight, it appears to be identical to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but a closer look reveals that the current-generation flagship’s curved screen has been swapped out for a flat screen, giving the phone a sleeker and crisper appearance.

As expected, the new design makes the side bezels somewhat more visible, although most users will likely not notice.

Moving over to the rear, the phone still has a quad-camera configuration, but the 10MP 10x periscope telephoto camera is clearly missing. Rumors say we’ll receive a 50MP telephoto module with 5x optical zoom instead.

Ice Universe had earlier said that the 50MP periscope camera has a new design with a circular lens over a square prism. According to the leaker, the “design has certain benefits,” which would likely enable the Galaxy S24 Ultra beat out other top camera phones in 2024.

Finally, it appears that the model pictured is the Titanium Grey Galaxy S24 Ultra, and while it resembles the Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max, it may outperform Apple’s flagship in person.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Plus and basic variants may be powered by the in-house Exynos 2400 in select regions, which leaked benchmark results show is no slouch. The phones will include a variety of AI functions.
