Republicans, who hold the majority in the House of Representatives, are preparing to take a new step in the investigation against Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden in the context of his business ties with some foreign countries.
The Chairs of the House Judiciary Committee and the Audit and Accountability Committee announced in a joint statement that they will release the impeachment file against Hunter Biden next week.
Republican members James Comer and Jim Jordan said, “Hunter Biden’s willful failure to testify amounts to obstruction of Congress and falls under the jurisdiction of the relevant prosecutor’s office. We will not give him any privileges because of his last name.”
Republicans will first vote on the accusation against Hunter Biden, who did not come to testify to Congress, in the relevant committees next week; If it passes the committees in question, the vote against Biden will come to the General Assembly of the House of Representatives.
Since the Republicans hold the majority in the House of Representatives, it is certain that the vote will result against Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden investigation
The relevant committees of the House of Representatives had called his son Hunter Biden to testify within the scope of the investigation into the impeachment of US President Joe Biden, and Biden said he would only accept this on the condition that it was “open to the public”. Biden, whose testimony was first requested in closed session, did not go to testify.
The House of Representatives’ multi-pronged impeachment investigation into the US President is also looking into allegations that the Justice Department improperly slowed down tax crimes, as well as allegations that Biden’s family members improperly benefited from foreign business deals or used this policy to benefit.
