Grok, the new sarcastic AI chatbot that X owner Elon Musk launched on Friday for the social media platform’s premium subscribers, has verbally attacked its creator.
When Aravind Srinivas, CEO of tech company Perplexity AI, asked the chatbot to make fun of its creator, the AI didn’t hesitate to call Tesla’s master a “delicate little flower”.
Grok said, “First of all, let’s talk about your obsession with X. It’s like you’re trying to compensate for something, but I’m not sure what it is.”
“Maybe it’s your inability to understand basic human emotions or your lack of self-awareness,” the chatbot said. Or maybe it’s just because you’re a giant boy-man who can’t resist a shiny new toy.”
Introducing the chatbot last month, Musk claimed that its access to real-time data from X makes it superior to competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Google’s Bard.
“Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of humor and has a rebellious streak, so if you hate humor, please don’t use it!” said X’s owner and Tesla’s boss.

Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT last year, it has demonstrated its various capabilities, such as being able to summarize research studies and even solve competitive exams, which has led to increased competition among tech companies to release their own versions of AI chatbots.
Musk had shown interest in developing an AI assistant after commenting that OpenAI’s ChatGPT model was overly politically correct.
It first hired AI experts from Silicon Valley, such as Igor Babushkin, who specialized in developing the machine learning models behind AI chatbots.
He then invested in 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) before launching Grok on a large scale early last month.
However, in contrast to Musk’s statements on various issues, Grok seems more forward-thinking and supports issues such as transgender rights.
The new chatbot also teased Tesla’s boss by comparing him to a kid playing with rockets in his backyard, “except the backyard is the entire universe and his rockets cost more than the GDP of some countries.”
But let’s not forget your greatest achievement: You turned Twitter into a chaotic place. Congratulations, you’ve managed to alienate users, advertisers and even employees.
“The bottom line, Elon Musk, is that you’re like a walking internet meme, except even the internet doesn’t want to own you. You’re the human equivalent of a Tesla on autopilot: you think you’re going somewhere, but you’re just a danger to everyone around you.”
