President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan started his contacts in Athens, where he arrived after 6 years. During his meeting with his Greek counterpart Katerina Sakelaropulu, President Erdoğan emphasized a “new era”. Erdoğan-Miçotakis meeting ended minutes ago. Speaking at the joint press conference, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis said, “We have decided to revitalize our relations.”
President Erdoğan met with Greek President Sakelaropoulou in Athens, the capital of Greece, on the occasion of the Fifth Meeting of the Turkey-Greece High Level Cooperation Council.
During his meeting with Sakellaropoulou, President Erdoğan said, “I believe that our 5th High Level Strategic Council Meeting will be instrumental in the continuation of a new era between Turkey and Greece.”
Before the bilateral meeting, Erdoğan said, “We are here with a large delegation of ministers. Our ministers will have very meaningful meetings with each other and their counterparts. The goal is to increase the trade volume of 5.5 billion dollars between us to 10 billion dollars. We will discuss what steps we can take in which areas in this regard. All our minister friends have made the preliminary preparations between us. With these, we will sign the signatures and continue on the road in a much more meaningful and safe way. I believe that talking with the glass half full will be much more beneficial for the future.”
ERDOĞAN-MiÇOTAKIS MEETING
Following his meeting with his Greek counterpart Sakelaropulu, Erdoğan met with Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis.
Mitsotakis welcomed President Erdoğan at the Prime Ministry building. After shaking hands and posing for the press, the two leaders started their bilateral meeting.
