New era on Twitter: Only verified accounts will appear

Elon Musk announced that only approved Twitter accounts will be shown in the Private tab. Here are the details…

Twitter, which has changed its homepage design in recent months, has started to show users the Tweets suggested by its artificial intelligence algorithm in the “For You” tab. Elon Musk announced that only approved Twitter accounts will be shown in the special for you tab.

Approved Twitter users will be listed in the special for you tab

Twitter discontinued this feature last year. The feature, which first appeared as ‘Latest tweets’ and ‘Home’, was changed to ‘Exclusive for you’ and ‘Followed’ with the update.

Announcing that approved accounts that are not Twitter Blue subscribers will lose their blue ticks on April 1, the company started working to make more money from the subscription model. Elon Musk, who wants to increase the interaction of Blue subscribers, is making a radical change on Twitter.

Making a statement on the subject, Musk said, “Starting April 15, only verified accounts will be eligible to appear in For You recommendations. This is the only realistic way to combat advanced AI-powered bot accounts. Otherwise it’s a hopeless losing battle. Voting in polls will require account verification for the same reason.”

Underlining that bot accounts can also get a blue tick, Musk said, “However, it is okay to have verified bot accounts if they comply with the terms of service and do not impersonate a human.”

Twitter users reacted to Musk’s statement. Stating that Twitter does not perform any identity verification for Blue subscription, users argued that not everyone who pays should have a blue tick.
