Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his country is safer than the United States, following the US travel warning against Mexico.
“Why this paranoia?” Obrador said when asked about the US travel warning against Mexico.
“Mexico is safer than the United States and traveling safely in Mexico is not a problem,” the Mexican president said.
Last week, 4 US citizens were kidnapped shortly after crossing the Mexican border; 2 of them were killed and 2 were released unharmed.
US officials had issued a travel warning for this country following the developments.
