The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that the Armenian army opened fire on Azerbaijani positions and stated that the Yerevan administration is trying to create artificial tension in the region.
In a statement made by the ministry, it was stated that the Armenian army and illegal Armenian forces fired 23 times at the Azerbaijani army positions on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border and in the Karabakh region between 21.30 yesterday and 04.15 today.

The Azerbaijani army also retaliated, the statement said:
“The Armenian armed forces are systematically firing at our positions, provoking our army to respond and trying to create a false opinion among the representatives of the European Union (EU) civilian mission operating on the border, trying to create artificial tension in the region.
We reiterate that the full responsibility for any provocations by Armenia and the resulting humanitarian casualties lies with the leadership in Yerevan.”
