US President Joe Biden hosted a reception at the White House for “Black History Month”, which is celebrated throughout February.

Addressing the group of guests, mostly black members of Congress and representatives of the black community, Biden said, “History matters, black history matters. Americans need to know not just what they want to know about history, but the good, the bad, the true, what kind of a nation we are.”

Biden noted that they are against all forms of racism and inequality against the black community and that they defend the right to vote for black people, and said, “We see the vitality of black culture and history that cannot be buried because it lives alive in the soul of this nation, that enriches all of American history, that is who we are.”
