Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX and Twitter, made the 14th of his “Twitter Files” revelations through freelance journalist Matt Taibbi, revealing internal correspondence showing that allegations of Russian interference in American politics are untrue.
In a long series of tweets on Twitter, freelance journalist Matt Taibbi wrote, under the title “Russia Gate Lies,” “At a pivotal moment in a years-long uproar, Democrats denounced a report on flaws in the Trump-Russia investigation, saying it was sponsored by Russian ‘bots’ and ‘trolls. Twitter officials were horrified to find no evidence of Russian influence.”
Pointing out that there is no solid evidence of Russian interference in US politics, referring to statements such as “We feed congressional trolls” and “There is no significant activity linked to Russia” in the screenshots of internal correspondence he published, Taibbi noted that Twitter warned politicians and the media that the bot accounts in question were “not Russian” but this was “ignored”.

In a series of tweets, Taibbi included a screenshot of Twitter’s Head of Security Yoel Roth stating in an internal memo that he “reviewed the first 50 tweets shared with the hashtag #ReleaseTheMemo” and found “no evidence of a Russian connection” and that they appeared to be “spam”.
“Contrary to universal belief, Twitter has continued to follow a slavish pattern of not challenging the Russian allegations on the record,” Taibbi said, sharing correspondence in which Twitter executives admitted they were wrong about Russian interference in US politics, including humorous visuals.
“As a result, reporters from AP to Politico, from NBC to Rolling Stone, continued to cover the theme of ‘Russian bot accounts’ despite the absence of any evidence,” the journalist said, referring to the US media’s stance on the issue.

Elon Musk has been exposing the internal correspondence of Twitter’s former management by sharing it with a group of journalists.
These series of tweets, dubbed the “Twitter Files” by the new Twitter executive and independent journalists, reveal that Twitter’s former management biased content based on their political views.
The revelations to date include the censoring of leaks from Biden’s son Hunter Biden that emerged during the election process at the request of US President Joe Biden’s team, the suspension of Trump’s account, as well as the revelations that Twitter’s former management was instrumental in the US military’s manipulations in the Middle East and that US authorities wanted 250,000 Twitter accounts to be closed.
Most recently, journalist Alex Berenson revealed that Dr. Scott Gottlieb, a member of the Board of Directors of COVID-19 vaccine maker Pfizer, pressured Twitter executives about posts against mRNA vaccines.
