Investigators in Canada have offered a reward of 100,000 Canadian dollars to solve the kidnapping of an Iranian woman abducted by assailants dressed as police officers.
Elnaz Hajtamiri was abducted from her home on the Ontario coast by three men dressed as police officers on January 12, 2022.
Since then, there has been no ransom demand from her abductors and few updates on the case.
“Her family is grieving her absence and has lived a year with limited answers,” Ontario Provincial Police Chief Martin Graham told reporters. Someone out there knows the identities of these men.”
Police also released two composite sketches of the masked suspects based on details provided by two eyewitnesses and brief written descriptions of the three men.
Hajtamiri immigrated to Canada after losing her husband less than five years ago. She had recently started her own cake-making company after leaving her import-export business.
