In New Zealand, the bodies of 2 children were found in suitcases a family bought at an auction.
Police official Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua said in a press statement in Auckland that a family participated in an online auction where items from abandoned warehouses were sold.
Vaaelua noted that the family received the personal belongings and household items purchased from the auction last week, adding that 2 suitcases of similar dimensions were found among the items, and that the bodies of 2 children were found inside the suitcases.
The two children, aged 5 and 10, are thought to have died several years ago and the suitcases are thought to have been in storage for at least 3 or 4 years.
Identification efforts are underway to determine where, when and how the children died.
A murder investigation is underway and the matter has been referred to INTERPOL (International Police Organization).
