UK claims that Russia is beginning to lose the Ukraine conflict

A first in the Ukrainian war: Missile attack on Russian base!

The comments from the UK defense minister come as Western nations pledge $1.55 billion more in military help to Kiev

Russian attempts to takeover Ukraine are improbable, according to the British defense minister, as Western countries committed an additional 1.5 billion euros ($1.55 billion) to support the Ukrainian military in its conflict with Russia.

At a conference co-hosted by Ben Wallace and the Danish defense minister Morten Bodskov in Copenhagen on Thursday, 26 nations decided to provide further financial and military help to Ukraine. Wallace said that Russia’s invasion had “faltered” and was “beginning to fail.”

Although combat and fatalities were still occurring, Wallace noted that Russia was “beginning to fail in many regions” and that it was crucial to acknowledge this.

He said that the invasion had “constantly changed to the point where they are actually just focussing in portions of the south and the east, a long, long distance away from their three-day so-called special operation.”

“President Putin will have gambled that come August, come a few months in, we will have all got bored of the conflict and the international community would have gone off in different directions. Well, today is proof of the opposite.”

In praising the Copenhagen summit, Wallace noted that the commitments made were “all geared to assist Ukraine win, to help Ukraine stand up for its sovereignty, and, in fact, to guarantee that President Putin’s objectives in Ukraine fail, as they rightfully should.”

In an effort to stem the tide of Russia’s invasion on February 24, the leadership in Kyiv repeatedly pleaded with the West to deploy more armaments, notably long-range artillery.

Oleksii Reznikov, the minister of defense of Ukraine, commended the allies for being “solid partners” at the conference.

“Increased petrol and gasoline costs in the West are tiny price for peace,” he remarked in a tweet. Ukrainians sacrifice their life to keep the rest of Europe at peace. We must defeat the murderous state and liberate our lands, especially Crimea. Everything that seems hard to me is actually feasible given enough time.

Earlier this month, Ukraine claimed that Germany and the United States had delivered additional high-precision heavy weaponry to the country.

Moscow claims it is carrying out a “special military operation” in Ukraine to protect Russia’s security against NATO expansion. Moscow has accused the West of prolonging the conflict by arming Ukraine.

Ukraine and its allies accuse Russia of launching an imperial-style war of aggression.

Aid to boost weapons production

The 26 nations’ contributions will be used to educate Ukrainian soldiers, enhance weapon manufacture for Ukraine, provide existing weapons, missiles, and ammunition, and demine war-torn regions of that country.

At the conclusion of the summit, which brought together European defense ministers to discuss long-term support for the nation’s defense against Russia’s invasion, Bodskov told media, “We will continue to aid Ukraine in its military requirements.”

According to Bodskov, the defense ministers of Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic expressed a desire to increase production of artillery systems, ammunition, and other military hardware for Ukraine.

The United Kingdom pledged an additional 300 million euros ($309 million) on Thursday, including multiple-launch rocket systems and precision-guided M31A1 missiles that can reach targets up to 80 kilometers (50 miles) away. The United Kingdom has already donated cutting-edge weapons systems to Ukraine and trained thousands of its soldiers in military skills.
