Official of Taiwan's state-owned missile company found dead in hotel room

In Taiwan, an official of a missile developer company affiliated with the Ministry of Defense was reportedly found dead in his hotel room

Ou Yang Li-hsing, Vice President of the Chung-Shan National Institute of Science and Technology, died in Pingtung county in the southern part of the island where he was on a business trip, Taiwan’s CNA news agency reported.

Security services reported that the cause of Ou Yang’s death is being investigated.

It was stated that the company official assumed the position of vice president at the beginning of this year and was responsible for many missile projects.

It was noteworthy that the death of the official coincided with a period when China launched military exercises around the island following the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

It was stated that the Chung-Shan National Institute of Science and Technology aims to double its production capacity this year and produce nearly 500 missiles a year in order to increase the combat capability of the Taiwanese army in the face of the increasing Chinese threat.
