For users of macOS, ExpressVPN has been upgraded to version 11.5.0. Finally, Apple silicon Macs are given native support, allowing M1 and M2 Mac customers to fully benefit from this VPN operating natively on their devices.
By upgrading to the most recent Mac app, ExpressVPN customers may now “experience the full performance benefits of Apple silicon Macs,” according to the firm.
The ExpressVPN app acknowledges the advantages of having a version designed exclusively for Apple silicon Macs, noting that it will function “even more fluidly on the newest Mac computer models, allowing customers to enjoy a performance gain together with decreased energy usage.”
“Apple silicon Macs are still new, and many apps do not yet have native support for them. Instead, these apps need to be “translated” by a software called Rosetta 2 so they can be used on Apple silicon. However, translated apps don’t work quite as well as native ones.
This is why we reworked our Mac app to have native Apple silicon support. ExpressVPN users with Apple silicon Macs can now enjoy the full effects of improvements to their computers’ reliability, performance, speed, and battery life—just by updating to the latest version of our Mac app.“
A few years back, Apple unveiled the first batch of M1 Macs. The business has already introduced the first two MacBooks with the M2 processor, which enhances the capabilities of the GPU, CPU, and Neural Engine. The changeover was finished a few months ago.
Version 11.5.0 of the software will continue to function just as well if you are using an older Apple computer with an Intel processor, according to ExpressVPN, because it is a “universal binary that supports both architectures.” The most recent version of ExpressVPN for macOS is available here.
