An urgent Saudi request to delete advertisements that go against Islamic principles and morals received a response from YouTube on Monday.
The inflammatory advertising that had been present on the site have been taken down, according to a spokeswoman for the platform in the Middle East.
In Saudi Arabia and around the world, protecting society is one of the platform’s main concerns, the representative added.

The General Commission for Audiovisual Media (GCAM) and Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) of Saudi Arabia issued a statement on Sunday requesting that the platform take down the objectionable adverts.
They pointed out that YouTube advertised to viewers in the Kingdom while displaying material at odds with “Islamic and social norms and principles” and was in breach of both YouTube’s policy and the Kingdom’s media content restrictions.
“The required legal steps will be taken in accordance with the two communications and audio-visual legislation” if the illegal content is transmitted further.
The objectionable information was promptly deleted by the Google-owned business.
