Technology company Google has announced that it will delete the entries of users who visit an abortion clinic through location data.
According to the Guardian, Google Vice President Jen Fitzpatrick stated in a statement that the entries will be removed through “location history” after anyone visits an abortion clinic in the US.
Fitzpatrick stated that this application will be operational in the coming weeks.
In addition, it was noted that visits to maternity clinics, addiction treatment centers and weight loss clinics will also be deleted through “location history”.
Abortion bans in the US
Abortion was banned in 16 states where Republicans have a majority in local legislatures after the US Supreme Court ruled on June 24 that abortion is no longer a constitutional right.
The decision, which abolished a 50-year right, deems it constitutional for states to be able to ban abortion without any restrictions, including pregnancy as a result of incest and rape.
Yesterday in Washington, the capital of the US, California Representative Judy Chu was detained during pro-abortion protests in front of the Congress building.
