CS:GO or Valorant? The debate reignites

Even before Riot Games released Valorant, the “CS:GO or Valorant?” debate was reignited.

CS:GO or Valorant? The debate reignites

Ever since Riot Games announced Valorant, the comparison between CS:GO and Valorant hasn’t stopped. Even while Valorant was still in beta, it was compared to CS:GO in many ways and many people tried to come to a conclusion about which one is better. Of course, there is no definitive answer, but Turkish players have been spending a lot of time playing Valorant lately. Just when we thought the discussions had died down, the posts made by two professional players sparked again.

CS:GO or Valorant? eSports player’s reaction to Valorant

The biggest difference between the two games is the spells in Valorant. These spells add a different flavor to the gameplay and can sometimes be the best part of the game. However, professional Valorant player Nismo’s objection is not without merit. In the video shared by Nismo, we see that the opponent can’t even see the screen due to the spells he is using, and that he is taken out of the game without firing a single bullet.

HooXi, who is actively involved in CS:GO eSports, also responded to this post. He said that playing the Nuke map or Mirage map in CS:GO is much better than Valorant. However, he also mentioned that the situation in Valorant after the player installs Spike is horrible. When we watch the video in question, we can agree with these statements of HooXi.

However, one thing to consider here is that Valorant is relatively new. Of course, the second age is never too young for an online game, but balancing in FPS games takes time to settle in. CS:GO is no different sometimes. The updated Dust II map, which was added to the game in 2017, has seen significant changes even in 2021. This is why it takes time for the game to be balanced.

We hope that Riot Games heeds Nismo’s and other Valorant players’ calls and fixes the magic mess in the game. Frustrating gameplay like this could cost Valorant some serious blood in the near future.

Although it is not possible to come to a definitive answer, we are curious about your opinions. CS:GO or Valorant? Which one do you play?
