It was announced that 3 thousand children could not go to school due to increasing attacks by armed gangs in Katsina state of Nigeria.
Malam Sa’ad Shimfida Salisu, Head of Katsina Internally Displaced Persons Camps, stated in a statement that the attacks of armed gangs in the state are getting worse day by day.

“The attacks are happening day and night and children cannot go to school anymore out of fear,” Salisu said, noting that about 3 thousand children in the province are deprived of education due to these attacks.
Salisu underlined that more than 15 thousand people have taken refuge in displaced persons camps due to the attacks in the province.
From time to time, the region is the scene of violent clashes between the Fulanis, who are engaged in animal husbandry, and some farming tribes.
Armed gangs take advantage of these conflicts and organize attacks.
