Toyota Motor will halt production at 11 production lines due to supply disruptions for parts originating from China caused by the pandemic measures in Shanghai.
China’s restrictive measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai are affecting the production capacities of Japanese companies.
Accordingly, Toyota will shut down 11 production lines at 7 plants in Aiçi, Iwate and Miyagi prefectures in Japan from today until July 8.
The Japanese firm estimates that its June global production will fall to 750,000.
Toyota announced that it has maintained its comprehensive global production target of 9.7 million vehicles for the fiscal year 2022, which ends in March 2023.
