Tetris (Russian: Те́трис) is a puzzle game originally designed by Soviet computer engineer Aleksey Pajitnov, released on June 6, 1984. As well as being played on the computer, it has also been popular in game devices originally intended for this game. It has been quite popular, especially in the 1990s. Pajitnov derived the name of the game from the combination of the numerical prefix Tetra with his favorite sport, tennis.
According to the data of the book of records, it is the 6th most played game of all time. Aleksandr Serebrov played Tetris in space on July 1, 1993, taking a Game Boy with him on his mission to the Mir Space Station. In this way, he entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first person to play video games in space. The first game played in space went down in history as Tetris.
