President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. At the meeting, Sweden and Finland’s membership requests to NATO were discussed. During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey’s security concerns regarding Sweden and Finland’s membership demands are based on justified and legitimate grounds. President Erdoğan also stressed that both countries should make it clear that they have given up on supporting terrorism.
President Erdoğan stressed that both countries should make it very clear that they have given up supporting terrorism, lifted sanctions against Turkey and are ready to show alliance solidarity.
NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg also pointed out that the expectations of Turkey, an important ally, must be met.
