According to an analysis by the US financial services group Citi, the daily cost of the Ukrainian war to Russia amounts to about $ 250-300 million.
In an email from CitiGrop analyst Ivan Zakharov, the Bloomberg news agency reported that the additional costs Russia incurred as a result of military operations were about 594 billion rubles ($9.6 billion).

According to the report, Russia’s defense spending in the period January-April 2022 amounted to a total of 1679.8 billion rubles, compared to an average of 1085.5 billion rubles in the same period from 2019 to 2021.
Zakharov said that despite the increase in defense spending in the last two months, the increase so far has been moderate compared to recent history. Russia’s defense spending this year accounts for 4.18 percent of total federal spending, compared to 1.16 percent in 2021.
