Since Apple is one of the world’s leading technology brands, it often comes up with new lawsuit. Now he’s in trouble again with a company he’s faced before. SpaceTime3D, a software company, claims Apple has infringed on one of the patents. Here are the details…
SpaceTime3D sues Apple once again
SpaceTime3D has sued Apple, saying it infringed one of the 3D user interface patents for multitasking apps and Safari tabs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The plaintiff filed a complaint with the District Court for the Western District of Texas about three different controversial patents, one of which was first filed in 2007.
Apple’s Switcher and Safari Tab View features violate a SpaceTime3D patent for the way it uses the content to improve the user experience on small devices by viewing it in 3D, the lawsuit says.
The Cupertino company, with information from the news, noticed these technologies, which apple is believed to have patent infringed. SpaceTime3D founder Ezra Bakhash showed it to an unnamed Apple executive. Eventually, somehow, the information reached Apple’s internal units.
Now the plaintiff company claims that Apple intentionally violated its intellectual property rights, and also that Apple tried to patent the technology for itself. But since spacetime3D owns the patent, the company’s attempt was rejected.
SpaceTime3D is seeking a conviction for Apple’s patent infringement and is seeking a jury trial. In addition, Cupertino is demanding that the company pay some fees, including compensation and attorney’s fees.
