YouTube rivals TikTok with two new specials!

YouTube has begun testing two new features. Innovations will provide a better space for its users, while also rivaling TikTok.

Competition between social media platforms is increasing day by day. Companies often offer new features to attract more users and get ahead. YouTube, the world’s most popular video streaming platform, is one of them.

The platform has stepped up its efforts to compete with its biggest rival, TikTok. Finally, the company began working on two features that will help it take the lead in the race. So, what’s new? Let’s take a look at it together.

YouTube Transcript Box feature

YouTube’s first feature in the testing phase, the Transcript Box, was actually long awaited. Because some users were doing it themselves in the comments in order to get enough efficiency from the video. Sometimes when we watch a video, only a small part of it is necessary for us. But because the video is so long, we have to fast forward or speed it up.

Transcript Box

Thanks to the Transcript Box, these problems will no longer occur, we will see what topic is in which minute at the bottom of the video and we will only watch that part. This may not be welcome for some YouTube creators because only a certain part of the video will be watched, not the entire video. It is thought that the function in the test phase will be quite useful.

Voice Over feature for Youtube Shorts

The social media giant had a huge success with Shorts, which it released in July last year. Shorts was similar to TikTok videos. This increased the competition between them. The company also announced that it had allocated $100 million to encourage its creators. The company is now testing voiceover to improve user experiences and capture more interaction.

Previously, only music from the YouTube Library section was added to shorts videos. However, now, thanks to the VoiceOver function, specially recorded audio will also be added to the videos. Exclusively externally added sounds will be posted with the video in another app. This feature is currently invalid in Android YouTube Beta. There is no explanation for beta users or when they will arrive.
