Israel urged world powers to immediately halt nuclear talks with Iran, citing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) report that Iran has begun the process of enriching uranium with 20 percent purity with advanced centrifuges.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, in a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said, “Iran is using nuclear blackmail as a method of negotiation. “World powers must respond to this by immediately stopping negotiations and taking firm action,” he said.

In a report submitted to member states on Wednesday, the IAEA stated that Iran has started the process of enriching uranium up to 20 percent purity with 166 advanced IR6 centrifuge chains at the facility in question.

“The IAEA has decided to increase the frequency of verification activities at the facility, and Iran has agreed. Consultations with Iran will continue on practical arrangements to facilitate the implementation of these activities.
