Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the current situation in the region following Iran’s retaliatory attack on Israel.
Minister Fidan emphasized that we are concerned about the possibility of escalation and spread of the crisis in the region.
Minister Fidan pointed out that since the beginning of the crisis in Gaza, Turkey has repeatedly stated that there is a risk of it turning into a regional conflict.
Stating that the war in Gaza lies at the root of the problem, Minister Fidan reminded that a ceasefire must be declared urgently and uninterrupted humanitarian aid must be delivered to Gaza, otherwise the crisis will continue to grow.
He also stated that the countries that have influence over Israel should give the right messages to prevent escalation.
