Apfel reached the height of his fame in the 1980s and 90s. For more than half a century, he has been a familiar face of Paris fashion shows.
She also worked with many celebrities, including Greta Garbo and Estée Lauder.
Apfel’s death was announced on his Instagram account, where he had nearly three million followers.
