A cow weighing 990 kilograms was sold for about 17 thousand euros at the traditional Paris International Agricultural Fair, which has been held in France for 60 years
The Paris International Fair, organized for the 60th time this year, continues to host its visitors.
Damien Blanc, who is in charge of the stand promoting the cow breed known as “Aquitaine Blondes” in Hall 1, where cattle are kept, told AA correspondent that a cow weighing 990 kilograms found a buyer for about 17 thousand euros on February 26 at the fair.
Blanc said they reached a record price with this sale, adding that the animal in question was bought by a butcher from Porto-Vecchio on Corsica Island.
Blanc said that the butcher bought this cow to advertise his shop and display it in his shop window, noting that this situation encouraged him to do his job better and raise his animals better.
“The Aquitaine blonde is a breed from the southwest. It is a breed with a big volume,” Blanc said, adding that they introduced these cows to visitors at the fair.
“This breed has a lot of return, butchers are happy because this breed has more muscle than bone,” said Blanc, who is an animal breeder in Tarn province.
The Paris International Agricultural Fair is known as the main event promoting the French agricultural sector and animal breeding.
The traditional fair, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors, is attended by leading politicians, including the president.
The fair will host its visitors until March 3.
