According to French broadcaster BFMTV, the Paris municipality employee’s bag was stolen on a train at the North Station in the city.
It was shared that the bag contained 2 USB sticks and a work computer.
The municipality employee realized that her bag was stolen when she got off the train and filed a complaint.
One of the USB sticks in question contained security plans for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
The national press raised the issue of whether this could pose a security vulnerability for the Olympics.
Some 2,000 municipal police from the City of Paris are expected to be on duty during the Olympics.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11.
