Former Red Army Faction (RAF) member Daniela Klette was arrested in Berlin last night at the age of 65 after more than 30 years.
According to the German daily Bild, citing security sources, the Verden Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police had been searching for former RAF members Burkhard Garweg, 55, Ernst-Volker Staub, 69, and Daniela Marie Luise Klette, 65, for more than 30 years. Klette was arrested yesterday evening in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
The Verden District Court had issued an arrest warrant for Klette for several serious robberies between 1999 and 2016, including in Bochum-Wattenscheid, Essen, Wolfsburg, Cremlingen and Stuhr.
Klette belonged to the third generation of the RAF, which is also said to have been responsible for the bomb attack on the Weiterstadt prison (Hesse).
