Berlin: Batuhan Mumcu, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, said at the Berlin Film Festival that Turkish TV series have achieved great success worldwide and reached 750 million people in more than 170 countries. Mumcu emphasized that the Turkish TV series sector is among the top 5 countries in the world in terms of exports and contributes significantly to the promotion of Turkey.
TV Series and TV Content Fair to be Organized in Istanbul
Mumcu stated that TV series not only contribute to the promotion of Turkey, but also make significant contributions to the economy. In this context, he announced that a TV Series and TV Content Fair will be organized in Istanbul in 2025. He said that the fair will be one of the most important events in its field and will make a great contribution to the sector.

Referring to the difficulties faced by the cinema sector during the pandemic, Mumcu said that 32 million TL support was provided to movie theaters and the Entertainment Tax was reduced to zero. He also stated that two new types of discounted tickets were introduced to increase the number of viewers and that a 30% increase in the number of viewers was projected in 2024.
Foreign Productions Coming to Turkey
Deputy Minister Mumcu emphasized that Turkey is an important attraction center for filmmakers with its rich history and natural beauties. Speaking about the incentives provided to foreign filmmakers, Mumcu said that many important productions featuring world stars such as Guy Ritchie, Jason Statham and Hugh Grant were shot in Turkey. He added that they expect many Hollywood movies to be shot in Turkey in the coming period.
