Kansas City police say multiple gunshots were heard as thousands of people gathered in the city square for a Super Bowl celebration dispersed.
Police said that gunshots were heard in the western area of Union Station in the square and at least 10 people participating in the celebration were shot and injured.
Kansas City Fire Department announced that 1 person died in the incident.
In the moments when gunshots were heard, the participants of the celebration were seen to panic and run away from the area, while the police took extensive security measures in the vicinity.
The police detained 2 armed suspects suspected of carrying out the attack and started an investigation.
