While the Kremlin rejects claims that Russian President Putin is courting the United States for peace negotiations, the US media has come up with a striking analysis. According to the Washington Post, the US support for Israel’s occupation of Gaza has damaged Washington’s reputation in many parts of the world, which in turn has strengthened Russia’s position in the global arena.
According to Kremlin documents and interviews with Russian business executives obtained by the US daily Washington Post, Russia believes that its deepening ties with China and the Global South will challenge the US-dominated financial system and undermine the West.

After its success in stopping a Western-backed Ukrainian counteroffensive, Russia has been buoyed by political deadlock in Washington and Brussels over continued funding for Kiev, according to analysis in the Washington Post.

RUSSIA PROVED MUCH MORE RESILIENT THAN THE WEST EXPECTED
Russia’s greater military and economic resilience than the West expected has also strengthened Putin’s standing at home ahead of the presidential election in March. “There is a certain expectation that the situation will change in Russia’s favor,” said a Russian academic with close ties to the country’s top diplomats, noting that Western sanctions had previously caused concerns but that the situation has now changed.
DENIAL OF NEGOTIATIONS
Bloomberg, the US-based media outlet, had claimed that Russian President Vladmir Putin was probing to find out whether America was ready for talks to end the war in Ukraine.
Bloomberg claimed that the Russian leader was ‘ready to give up his opposition to Kiev joining NATO’, a claim the Kremlin flatly denied. Peskov dismissed the claim as ‘absolutely false’ news.
Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, said she was not aware of the development and emphasized that the decision on negotiations with Russia rests with Ukraine.
