According to Live Science, the asteroid, which is the size of an airplane, will pass within 354,000 kilometers of Earth, can be watched on the Virtual Telescope Project’s live broadcast.
According to NASA, the flying space rock will reach its closest point to Earth at 20.30 Turkish time.
This distance will be closer than the average distance of the Earth to the Moon.
There is no risk
According to the Virtual Telescope Project, even though the 2024 BJ will come “very close” to Earth, it will not pose any risk.
Astronomers first spotted the asteroid, designated 2024 BJ, on January 17.
