After the emergency exit door of the Boeing 737-MAX 9 type passenger plane belonging to Alaska Airlines broke off, another disaster was averted.

“The crew successfully fulfilled the standard procedure and returned safely to the airport,” Atlas Air said in a statement.

On the other hand, in the footage of the plane on social media, smoke and flames were seen rising on the left side of the plane shortly after take-off.

While an investigation into the malfunction is underway, Miami International Airport officials said the Miami-Dade Fire Department responded to the plane immediately after landing and no injuries were reported.
