Turkey leads the European Championships

Our National Football Team, which has already secured qualification for UEFA EURO 2024, finished as the leader of Group D with a 1-1 draw away to Wales.

The match played at Cardiff City Stadium was broadcast on TRT 1. Referee Matej Jug from the Slovenian Football Federation officiated the match. Our National Football Team finished the match with a 1-1 draw after falling behind 1-0.

Our national team started the match with Uğurcan; Ferdi, Samet, Abdülkerim, Cenk; İsmail, Salih, Abdülkadir Ömür; Kerem, Yusuf Sarı, Barış Alper 11.

Wales took a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute with Neco Williams’ goal.

Uğurcan Çakır, who started the match in the starting 11 of our national team, was injured and could not continue the game. Çakır was replaced by Altay Bayındır in the 33rd minute.

A National Football Team closed the first half 1-0 down against Wales in the last week of UEFA 2024 European Championship (EURO 2024) Qualifying Group D.

In the 4th minute, Wales came effectively. Broadhead, who caught the ball on Ferdi Kadıoğlu’s back pass, came from the left side to the front of the penalty arc and made a placekick. The ball sailed just wide of the post.

In the 7th minute Wales took the lead. Neco Williams, who met the ball on the left wing on Wilson’s pass, dodged Ferdi and entered the penalty area from the diagonal. This footballer’s placement to the far corner sent the ball into the net from the corner: 1-0.
