Bad news from US actor Bruce Willis: Diagnosed with dementia

It was stated that famous US actor Bruce Willis was diagnosed with dementia. It was announced that the US actor quit acting in March 2022 due to aphasia.

In a statement made by Willis’s family on social media, it was noted that the 67-year-old actor, whose aphasia progressed, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and that “it is a relief to have a clear diagnosis” of the ailment that significantly impedes the famous actor’s ability to communicate.

In the statement, “Today, there is no cure for the disease. We hope that this fact may change in the coming years. As Bruce’s condition progresses, we hope that media attention can focus on shedding light on this disease that requires much more awareness and research.”

Willis, who started acting by performing on Broadway in the late 1970s, starred in dozens of prominent films such as Moonlight, Pulp Fiction and Die Hard during his half-century career.

Bruce Willis’ last film “Assassin” will be released on 31 March.
