Consumer prices in the US increased by 7.7 percent in October compared to the same period of the previous year.

The slowdown in annual inflation in the US continued for the fourth consecutive month.

According to the US Department of Labor data, consumer prices increased by 7.7 percent in October compared to the same period of the previous year, below expectations.

Economists’ inflation expectations were for an increase of 7.9 percent in October.

The October inflation figure was recorded as the slowest rise since January.

Annual inflation was realized as 8.2 percent in September.

A decline was also observed in core indicators. In October, monthly inflation excluding food and energy was recorded as 0.4 percent and annual inflation as 6.3 percent. Expectations were for a monthly increase of 0.5 percent and an annual increase of 6.5 percent.
