A US woman has now written her name in world history thanks to her nails, which she has not cut for 25 years. The woman who made it into the Guinness Book of World Records talked about her daily life and the difficulties she faced because of her nails…
64-year-old Diana Armstrong last cut her record-breaking nails in 1997. In other words, 64-year-old Diana Armstrong’s nails have not touched a nail clipper for 25 years.
Diana’s nails are exactly 1,306 centimeters in total. The woman with record-breaking nails the length of a school bus says that’s why she quit her job.
“I haven’t been to a nail salon in about 22 years,” Diana jokes to Guinness, explaining that it took her four to five hours to paint her ‘claws’ using 15-20 bottles of nail polish and a woodworking tool to file them. “When they saw me coming, they would say, ‘Oh no,'” she jokes.
While Diana loves her long nails, there are also disadvantages, such as trying to open the refrigerator door and no longer being able to drive because her nails don’t fit in the car.

But the challenges in Diana’s life don’t end there. Diana has difficulty zipping up her jeans or opening cans, and when she needs to pick up money from the floor, she can only pick up paper money but not coins because of her fingernails.
Diana, who admits that she usually uses her feet for these tasks, experiences the biggest problem when she goes to the toilet when she is out and about. Unfortunately, the record holder cannot enter the restroom because she has difficulty closing the door of public restrooms and washing her hands in the sinks.
Diana has gotten used to the stares she gets when she’s out and about and is comfortable with people often asking her if they can take photos of her impressive nails. Although she used to shy away from the attention she used to get, she is now comfortable with her nails.

Behind Diana Armstrong’s record lies a tragedy.
When her daughter Latisha tragically died of an asthma attack at the age of 16, Diana vowed never to cut her nails again.
Because Latisha used to manicure Diana’s nails every weekend and that’s why Diana started to mourn her daughter’s sudden loss and not let anyone touch her nails.

“I think she [Latisha] would be proud of me because she was the last person to do my nails,” Diana says.
Before Diana, Ayanna Williams of Texas held the world record, but last year she decided to cut her nails after growing them for thirty years.
But Diana is determined never to cut her nails.
“My nails are part of me. I can never imagine cutting them.”
